How movement defines fighting games and their characters

What Super Metroid won’t tell you is that you can actually wall-jump off a single wall, which lets you perform especially clever sequence breaks. This would return in Zero Mission, albeit with no discoverable in-game tutorial.
The Super Wavedash in Melee was so cool that I ended up learning it even though it was hard and impractical.
The airdash that I-No performs at the beginning of the combo is actually a Morrigan dash that lets her perform any air move right off the ground. Of course, she sacrifices typical neutral and grounded options for this, since she has no normal grounded dash.
Hammer Fall, Hammer Fall Break, and Hammer Fall YRC (in Xrd) are Potemkin’s substitutes for a grounded dash approach.
I also like the idea of Nova’s throw being about as terrifying as Makoto’s command grab.
